Landmark is a great little lunch spot right on Manchester's Main Street and located in the historic Marlow's five and dime store. It's a quiet, laid back, homey restaurant that serves only breakfast and lunch, plus a variety of fresh brewed specialty coffees, mochas, teas, and lattes. Lunch specialties include the Landmark quesadillas, homemade grilled meatloaf topped with caramelized onions, roasted red peppers, Provolone cheese and garlic mayonnaise sandwiched between sourdough bread, or any of the eatery's signature salads or fresh made soups for lunch. And they use Connecticut grown food where possible. But get there on time because they close at 2 p.m.

When you think of Whole Foods in Glastonbury the first thing to cross your mind is probably not lunch; yet here you can sample the largest selection of healthy food you'll find in the region. Cuisine from many countries, all fresh and made daily plus hot sandwiches, a coffee bar, and a gelato bar. Plus an Asian foods section. There is outdoor seating when the weather is nice.
All of the ingredients are natural or organic and as many as possible are locally grown. That means no artificial flavors, colors, sweeteners, preservatives or heart-clogging trans fats. It means the food is pure, fresh, flavorful, and produced by farmers who care about quality and their environment.

Zest is one of our very favorite restaurants and is located near the Vernon line in Tolland. Formerly known as Monet's Table, the restaurant has a mix of vegetarian and meat dishes, but all contain unique combinations of ingredients and flavors. They love herbs, flowers, colors and flavors. The homemade soups are delicious and its really tough to resist the desserts. During the summer months you enter through their flower garden. The restaurant is in a picturesque 1750ís farmhouse surrounded by gorgeous gardens. It is located near the foot of Shenipsit Lake and a stone's throw from Breathe...more's yoga studio.
The multifarious menu at Zest offers brunch, lunch and dinner entrees made completely from scratch on the premises, including their own home-baked bread. They support our local farms by choosing artisan cheeses, hormone free dairy products, local eggs and meat whenever possible.
