July 2014 Practitioner Newsletter

Upcoming Events For Practitioners

This newsletter is to make you aware of many of the fairs and expos, mostly in our area, coming up in the next few months. They each have their own focus or theme so you should find some that will help you market your business.

It's important for potential clients to meet you and see if they connect. It provides you the opportunity to explain your services and answer questions.

We seem to go through periods with few opportunities to reach the public and at other times there are a wealth of opportunities. This seems to be a time of great opportunity and I hope you will take advantage of it.

As for our Conscious CT website - although we now publish only a few newsletters a year we do keep the Calendar up to date as well as our Practitioner Directory. The Universe presents so many tempting opportunities for service we are spread thin and have to let go of some tasks as we choose to follow others.

Conscious CT also makes use of our Facebook Page to promote some events and share current news. We also have a MeetUp site for selected upcoming events. We encourage you to join both.

Coventry Farmers' Market Wellness Fair

On Sunday, September 21 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. the Alliance For Holistic Living, partnering with the Coventry Regional Farmers’ Market, will bring visitors our 5th Rise & Shine Wellness Fair. Last year’s event was a great success with Alliance members and local practitioners providing information and hands-on experience emphasizing the benefits of holistic living.

The Coventry Farmer's market is held each Sunday from June through October at the Nathan Hale Homestead. It is the largest market in Connecticut and one of the premier markets in New England. The average attendance is approximately 1500 people each week. The event is more than a market as each week they have themed events taking place. In keeping with its mission of building community through service and education, the Alliance is pleased to be invited to produce the wellness fair for the FIFTH consecutive year.

The Rise n’ Shine Wellness Fair will have its own area of the grounds to set-up exhibits offering an array of holistic modalities. Exhibitors will include many members of the Alliance; however, exhibit space is open to the general holistic community East of the River as well. We encourage practitioners offering holistic goods and services to participate.

Soul Light Expo

On Sunday, October 19 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. DORY DZINISKI and The Door Opener Magazine will host their first expo at the Crowne Plaza in Cromwell. "Remember the old days of Barbara Hardie’s Angel Connections expos? They were great! So, in the spirit of nostalgia, we are holding our expo in the same location – kinda going back to the old neighborhood, right?" It's a great location between Hartford and New Haven.

As this expo is 2 weeks before Halloween, Dory is going to be using some Halloween colors around the expo and invites you to do the same! "How about dressing up yourself or your booth! No masks, though!"

Applications are now being taken for vendors, readers and speakers.

2015 Greater Vernon Holistic Healthfest

It's still way down the road but since people have been asking we are planning to hold the two-day Vernon Healthfest again next year. This only happens every other year so you may want to pencil it in and not plan your Florida vacation for early spring.

We can't book the school until September when the school year begins, but we prefer the last weekend in March, which will be March 28 & 29, 2015. We'll send a notice out this fall as soon as we confirm; applications will go out in early December.
